I logged on briefly last night to see that for the first time since before Inferno, the Amarr own more space than the Minmatar.
I feel that as an EVE pilot, it is my duty to inform you that we didn’t want that space anyway.
Interestingly enough something else happened in the warzone lately that not many people took much notice of. Or rather, something didn’t happen.
The Gallente didn’t get warzone control 5, even after taking over 100% of their warzone. And, no one seems to be asking why.
I wrote a while back about the math of upgrading systems, particularly that the more buffer systems you have, the cheaper it is to upgrade to that tier level, since you don’t have to upgrade as many to level V. Well, even 100% of the warzone didn’t seem to tempt the Gallente at all to make a push.
I understand the need for diminishing returns, but there’s a big difference between diminishing returns and making it so winning is bad for you. While I’m not particularly to the point of ripping out my hair and gnashing my teeth, and I have a bit of maths to do, I think it would be safe for someone to inform Houston that we have a problem.
As far as our own warzone goes, it will be interesting to see how far the Amarr get, and whether they make an attempt on any of the stronghold systems. A play for Huola could mean some interesting times ahead for Late Night, though I doubt we would move even if the system fell into enemy hands.
I kind of laughed when I read this post by Poetic. Not because of the weird misinformation that makes me believe there are far less Amarrian spies in our militia than I initially thought –but because of his description of the Amarr out farming as if it's the only thing they wanted to do all along.
It's amusing how the prospect of a little ISK can turn the "we don't plex because we're hardened pvpers and plexing isn't about pvp" sorts into effectively pacified carebears.
But I shouldn't make fun. I wish you all the button orbiting happiness in the world.
PS, shortly before publishing, I noticed another post up by Poetic.
And I quote:
"It's a fantastic time to be Amarrican. We even have plex farmers now."
God save us all.
Tbh this time it really looks like you dont want those systems, and its pretty clear why.
ReplyDeleteand it really is farmers who controls sov. not pvp dudes or dudettes.
>it really is farmers who controls sov. not pvp dudes or dudettes
DeleteTragically, this does often appear to be the case. However, PvP clearly has a at least some impact since our sudden upswing correlates pretty exactly with U'K leaving, Iron Oxide imploding, and LNA decreasing the frequency with which they show up for fights.

ReplyDeleteBecause an alliance bigger than you, who was such a threat that you HAD TO wardec them (ushrakong) aint matter. Because the Russian alliance with 200+ members who lost their stronghold of Dal aint matter. Because FW is all about your precious Huola and all other systems change hands WHEN YOU WANT IT. For "free geddons", right? Are you really hopelessly stupid, or your whole blog is a huge troll?
